Description

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, due to Mitchelll Act funding reductions had scheduled the termination of 670,000 coho fry. These coho are part of the Yakama Nation Fisheries Coho program for the Klickitat River. Without this production level, the Yakama Nation would have missed an important milestone in our production and reintroduction of coho to the Klickitat River. The additional funding provided by this contract kept the 670,000 coho on line and the successful delivery to four acclimation sites developed by the Yakama Nation on the Klickitat River.

Project Benefit

Enable continued rearing of juvenile coho to smolt size so as to increase survivals, as well as transportation of the smolts to the release sites.
