Description

The Tulalip Tribes have implemented a native plant nursery and greenhouse project, using plants salvaged from construction sites. The Tribes currently have approximately 5,000 native plants stored for future restoration projects. These plants will be used for salmon habitat improvement or restoration projects in the form of streamside and wetland plantings. Tulalip Tribal members are finding that some vegetative species of cultural significance are becoming difficult to locate and harvest for tribal cultural activities so they are planning to prioritize salvaging plants of cultural significance to grow, reproduce and replant as part of the salmon habitat improvement projects.

Project Benefit

Salvaging plants and other vegetation that can be used for salmon habitat improvement or restoration projects and salvaging vegetative species of cultural significance to the Tulalip Tribes.
