Description

Hydroacoustic Study/Refinement of escapement and outmigration estimates in the Muckleshoot U&A (Lake Washington System, Green/Duwamish System, and White/Puyallup System): Funds will support staffing to use mobile (boat mounted) and stationary hydroacoustic package. The stationary package can be operated from a river bank and provides estimates of numbers of adults returning and their return timing. The mobile package can provide estimates of the numbers and distribution of fish in streams, lakes and bays. Attempts will also be made to use both systems to estimate juvenile outmigration.

Project Benefit

Improved methodology for quantifying salmon life history characteristics and abundance; expanded assessment tools.
